Post-PDX post-Thanksgiving

I took the train to Portland for Thanksgiving weekend. Managed to proofread Chunga on the way down, but the ride was uneventful otherwise. Thanksgiving was at my cousin's house in Beaverton for the third year, and it was as fun as always to get together with my aunt's family and drink too much wine

Oregon won by one point

Oregon is pretty much going to win ... right?

In this context, University of Oregon is shortened to Oregon, while Oregon State University is shortened to Oregon State. That same kind of abbreviation is used in other states that have both a "University of" and a "State University", including Washington and Arizona.

I figured it was something prosaic like that.

I just googled it and found out that not only is there an "Illinois State University" but it's where my niece went to school.
