A Facebook post by reverendjim and a lovely letter of comment on Alternative Pants from Mike Meara have reminded me that a year ago on this date I was in Antwerp with Jim and pingopark. It's a good photo of you. You don't look like a zombie; you're not trying to be serious either. I, at least, could tell you were happy at a glance, without being told. There's something in and around your eyes, a movement towards an expression already wholly present -- hidden beneath the seeming passivity is a quiet joy. It is not a passive face, but one full of potential motion. Exhausted, yes, zombie, no; and happy!

Glad for the reminders, the good posts and lovely locs, all well deserved. I trust you raised one to all and sundry, including yourself.

Thanks, Ron. I did indeed raise one to all and sundry, and had the favor returned by folks who returned to one of the pubs we visited in Nottingham during Novacon last year. I heart transatlantic bonhomie.

Sounds like Novacon is before National Death To Clowns Day next year. Just saying.
(Though plenty of fine London pubs you've not been to too.)

Yes, that thought had occurred to me as well. Well, both thoughts had, actually, although I really do want to make it back to Belgium.
