At last a draft

May 21, 2011 14:58

I've finally completed the first draft of an epic trip report about my travels in November 2010. It's sitting at 20,000 words right now. I've sent it off to five people for feedback. This has been a long process, but I'm happy to have reached this stage. Makes it seem more likely that I'll actually finish the damn thing.

Will you celebrate your draft with a draft? ;>

Today I'll probably have to settle for a bottle. Not that I'm complaining!

Well then, you're made it further than many fan fund winners I could name. Mind you I can also name two DUFF winners who repeatedly claimed to have finished their trip reports but who never managed to take the next step of actually publishing them.

The funny thing is, in some ways this is my make-up report for not having completed my TAFF report. Hm, maybe I should have called it "Ceci n'est pas une TAFF report," instead of "Alternative Pants". Although my TAFF trip is mentioned many times in it! Being a return to the scene of the crime, amongst other things.

I've done circa 5K so far on my trip to Corflu in February. Which takes us as far as dinner on the night I arrived in San Francisco.

Have you sent it off to make sure you haven't accidentally insulted someone or to make sure you haven't accidentally forgotten to insult someone you should have?

Both.

Looking forward to your Corflu report! Woohoo!
