As I've mentioned before, Bottleworks is a local beer store (they also carry fancy chocolate and a nice selection of cider) located in Wallingford. They have recently started a blog. For the most part they are using it to announce what's new at the shop, but I see they also have a story about Tex's recent birthday pubcrawl. "The sixth and final ( Read more... )

I don't know from chocolate, but I've tasted some of their free samples, which seemed pretty durned good.

Oooh the Deluxe! We were there just yesterday -- it's our favorite place for burgers and fries. I'll check out the chocolate next time I'm up to Wallingford.

We had the bacon and cheese fries at the Deluxe after the movie, which probably took a year off my life. You should check out the cider at Bottleworks, too. They get good French cider, for example, as well as British and Canadian varieties.

Dogfather Imperial Stout!

We're hoping for Dark Star's Imperial Russian Stout on draught at the Claret tomorrow. I've been ill for about a week, but that's worth leaving the house for...

Mmmm, I've got a bottle of Trumpeter Imperial Stout waiting in the fridge while I drink this winter ale from Montana. But yeah, the Dogfather sounded good, and the Dark Star you gave me in Vegas was very, very nice indeed.

Oooooh.

Ever since the Bottle Shoppe closed (in Bellingham) I get to be jealous of any beer store -- particularly good ones.

Down the block, I've had Left Hand (don't know the name, but it's a milk stout of some kind). Oddly. the tap handle has a graphic of a right hand.

A lot of grocery stories in Seattle have nice beer selections these days, but Bottleworks truly is a beer paradise. I can't remember if I've tried anything by Left Hand or not, although the name is familiar.

Did you guys get any weather in Bellingham yesterday?

Ballard Market, for example, has 9 different Unibroue offerings, so I know Seattle has some good beers.

Did we get weather? Umm. NOAA's NWS site is about as accurate as I can be, and it doesn't have the swear words. Okay, 12 degrees Fahrenheit seems downright cold compared to today's 26. We got weather all right. But, from what I've read, we got nuttin compared with Seattle.
