Yeah, I try to have my characters talk to people outside their canon..but at this point it seems like it needs to be a group effort more than anything.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE, because I 110% agree. I really don't think that in a panfandom RP a canon-only plotting community should be necessary. I can't really think of anything more exclusive than that. :\ I was planning on bringing it up on HMD ...but, um, with so many people doing it, I don't know if it would help. Maybe talking to the mods is a good idea.
Whenever I hear of a canon-only plotting comm, I facepalm. I mean we have the OOC for a reason. u.u And yeah, I was thinking of bringing it up in the HMD post too...but I'm wondering if it would just look like a custom message C&Ped to all the different fandoms.
Aw man, and I just finished an app for Paradisa. XD;;
Hmmmm, I dunno, since I don't play there I probably can't give any in-depth opinions or decent suggestions. It's difficult to do much about it, in my experience, since that kind of thing is hard to break into for characters not in a particular fandom, and can be difficult to break out of if you're in it. I think it tends to happen in games when people get too comfortable and start developing only their canon relationships, so maybe throwing characters together randomly somehow would help? idk. D:
Yeah, I can see why it's a habit that people fall into - I'm sure I've fallen into it a couple times with my characters in the past. There's just been..and overabundance of it. And maybe throwing characters together randomly would help! Like have a plot where characters HAVE to talk to non-canon mates or do something with them?
:x! I haven't posted it yet, since I'm still wavering on whether or not he'd fit into the environment and stuff. Plus, uh. Stage fright. D:
It's definitely frustrating when you can see it happening, and it can be really bad for making players not in certain groups/new players feel alienated. But something like that would probably be fun... I'M TRYING TO THINK OF A NON-SUCKY IDEA/EXAMPLE. |D But yeah, making characters break out of their groups somehow.
