I first heard of Skins through you and then began watching it this year when Netflix offered the first three series for Instant Viewing. I really loved the camaraderie and format of the first gen and I totally agree that even in series three it was clear that the drug use/sex depiction was out of control. I definitely liked a few characters of gen 2 but it was a lot harder to get into and I didn't watch series 4 because I just could bring myself to care anymore about gen 2. I wasn't even going to watch series 5 but you and others raved about it so I watched it via Sidereel and agree with you wholeheartedly - it's amazing.

Agree with all of this, 100%. I actually loved lots of the Gen 2 characters, but S4 was ridiculous and even S3 was very much OTT with all the sex, drug use etc. That's not the most important part of Skins, and people that watch it just for that seem to missing the point imo.

Amazing post.I agree with you so much.I've never watched Skins because they got wasted all the time,and I'm really glad this time around they seem more focused on real things.

I agree so much and I hope that Gen 3 keeps up with the good episodes. I don't think it will live up to Gen 1 for me, but I've decided to not to compare them anyway and just enjoy that I'm getting some good Skins again.

(And lol @ someone calling Franky's episode "unwatchable". What the fuck, people.)
