Well would you look at that!“Snape is vindictive, he’s cruel. He’s not a big man,” she insisted. “But he loves. I like him, but I’d also like to slap him hard.” JESUS CHRIST JKR AND I ACTUALLY AGREE ON SOMETHING :O
I dunno if she really dissed Dumbledore, persay, she did call him Machiavellian, which isn't exactly compliment of the ages, is it? Pretty much Dumbledore is a manipulative bastard, Snape is a vindictive bastard and everyone loves them both. Yay!
PS: I say bastard in the kindest sense of the word. Which makes no sense, really. But I am tired and it's almost midnight here "up North" as we from "up North" like to say for reasons unbeknowest to me.
I always had a feeling JKR was always talking about Snape like he's a really bad man before just to preserve the potential for surprise when everyone found out he wasn't, and then after DH came out she might have looked bad for just turning right around in the way she talks about him like she was completely BS-ing before. I always take a lot of the things she says with a grain of salt, cause I think sometimes she's not exactly talking as the writer but just saying what she knows she should say, when it's kind of obvious she must like Snape considering she devoted so much of the books to his angst fest and making him ultimately a character you're supposed to sympathize with. I'm sure some insane fangirls will still hate her for not just admitting he's gorgeous-looking and the best character in the books, though. LOL.
Oh I agree with you 100%. She's sort of flip flopped on her opinion of Snape a lot though but it's mostly been negative. It's nice for her to admit that she likes the bastard.
I'm sure some insane fangirls will still hate her for not just admitting he's gorgeous-looking and the best character in the books, though. LOL.
Or for making love his motivation for change. Jesus, people: this whole SERIES is about love and choices. It's so STUPID when people think that love diminishes his character when it's the main theme of the damn books!
