These are wise financial decisions.  I thought about buying a tesla car too, I worry about my carbon footprint and it does go far.  If you can afford to wait something less expensive and equal may come out.  I am worried now about the debt I have and how to maybe live on less.

I've bought Lotto tickets on occasion - not often, because the odds of winning are worse than the odds of getting struck by lightning. I've never won a thing.

If I ever get granted a wish, I plan to wish that the next Lotto ticket I buy will be the winner, because I figure that wish would cause the least disturbance of cause-and-effect: some random person is going to win, and it might as well be me. Of course, the odds of getting a wish are way worse than the odds of just winning the Lotto naturally.

In any case: if I came into a sum of money big enough to change my tax bracket, I would hire a reputable accounting firm that handles such estates all the time, and let them handle it. I wouldn't spend one cent of my capital; I'd wait until the dividend checks started rolling in before I thought about buying anythingI would buy this house after my dear housemate passes, and have some upgrades and renovations done on it. I like my car, but I might buy a new one - probably a Subaru. I'd help my daughter and her partner buy the building ( ... )

Most lottery winners are bankrupt within five years because for most people, it's more money than they can ever imagine being able to spend. Pretty much you nailed the methodology for making it last, although some of it is a little extreme. I'm not sure that I fit in a Fiat 500.
Frankly if you lived like Buffet did for most of your life you wouldn't have any concern other than accumulating money. Quickly even your closest relatives would realize that no matter how great their need, if you were like him, you would neither lend nor give them a penny, including your own children.
