Ethnicity in Manga

Trying to figure out what Sebastian's apparent ethnicity would be (as a demon his appearance is entirely sham anyway, but I'm wondering what he chose ( Read more... )

yeah, art is no help with ethnicity in manga- judging by them lots of Japanese were blonde or redheaded in the 16th-19th centuries. I assumed Michaelis was latinized, given that Sebastian was probably equally active in roman days. Interesting to think what he would have looked like through history!

I'm sure he adopted a form suitable to whatever task was at hand for his prey's contract.

I imagine it always tended toward what humans of the day considered attractive, as that's something he could use, like a lantern-fish, to lure more prey.

I'm really not that savy in that manga, but i'd rule out the italian. It's just the name that reminds of this, and even that one is more latin than italian. I think what makes this so hard is that the english butler-mindset is so in mind it's really hard to tell apart from a modern point of view?
