sf_drama has a great bit of lulz on the issue, the best of which is this:

Of course.

(XD)

(I still think he looks like Heyerdahl. Which then makes me think that it would be quite awesome if the Doctor regenerated into Todd the Wraith.)

I'm relieved he *looks* older than he really is. It would be too distracting (at least in the beginning) to have the Doctor be THAT young. I have yet to see the Fifth Doctor in his series aside from a few clips and Time Crash, but what I have seen is that it's his acting, the confidence or the way he says things that make him a believable centuries old alien with a shipload of experience and memories.

That's what I hope to see in Mr. Smith. (Mr. Smith is the Doctor hehe.) The hair...well, he could always change that.

Apparently, he has stage experience and acted with Christian Slater so I suppose that's in his favor.

Yes, acting and the writing can go a long way. After all, it's not like Ten looks his age either. There are also other characters in sci-fi and fantasy that are in similar situations, such as the elves in the Tolkienverse, or the Vulcans in the Star Trek universe. Even the Pevensies are technically older than they look by several years in some of the Narnia books. I'm just surprised that they chose an actor younger than Tennant.

I somehow hadn't noticed that! XD As for the hair, I've seen pictures of him in which it wasn't as long (here's one courtesy of Shootastic) and I liked it, so I'm not going to worry about it. Besides, it's not like the Doctor can't get a haircut. Ten apparently did (compare pictures from "School Reunion" to "Smith and Jones").

Yes, he's not as inexperienced as IMDB would lead one to believe, which is good. I'm excited.

Yeah, I still have faith in Steven Moffat.

True, Moffat seems to know what he's doing, and that's reassuring.

Happy New Year to you too!
