Woot, angst! I do love me some angst. That Finn was the one following them is a great twist - I had hoped you were going to bring in some of the other Glee kids. Finn and Puck joining the military is perfect, especially that Puck survived; cannot imagine him succumbing to a zombie attack, he'd have watched way too many movies to not realise what was going on.

Though I'm not a fan of Finn/Rachel, I do love how it played out here. Form the beginning, when Santana felt awkward about cuddling with Rach after sex, to Rach's happiness about Finn's survival, and the comparison to Brittany's demise, just brilliant. Your description of Santana's breakdown is amazing. spashley picked one of the best lines, but I also love the "voice stained with misery". It really emphasises how much she's hurting.

Also love this: "I'll be as much of a friend to you as I can be. But I'm not going to let you sleep with me just so you can pretend it's Brittany." ~ Though I'm not entirely sure Rachel wants her just as a friend, I like that she won't let Santana ( ... )

Rachel definitely doesn't want Santana just as a friend, but it's a screwy situation for everyone involved, for sure. Rachel is just as confused as Santana is, but in a much different way. I did like playing with this exclusively from Santana's reaction so that we could feel her uncertainty in that regards. Hard chapter to write, though. I knew Brittany was dead, but to actually confirm it? Ouchie. :(
