My favorite part of the article is the quote from Doug Woods at the end, not just because he represents PGSA, but because of the truth and weight of what he says.

Douglas Woods, program director of the school for arts, said students at Mercyhurst are trained not only as future performers and audience members, but also are shown the importance both of advocating for the arts and of being participatory citizens.

"That might be the most important thing we do," he said.

I touched on that in my letters to the politicians. PGSA might be the main reason I woke up in high school and college to the fact that it's important to be a participatory citizen. Those of us that aren't pursuing the arts that we excelled in are still contributing to our communities and voting.

Governor's School will go under the block no matter how many letters they get. Rendell is an asshole, even the people who like him hate him, but he's consistent.
