Gah, the DC comm is so sadly dead these days. This is a great fic! It's really a shame no one else has commented yet.

I would probably have a better understanding of the situation the fic opens with if I'd seen OVA 9, but I definitely get the gist of what's happening. You explain it well for those who haven't seen it. Your version of the latter part is very intriguing and bittersweet and so sad. Poor Ai. Poor Conan!

They both sound perfectly in-character, in the dream as well as in real-life. And your ending is lovely. I adore seeing Conan coming to better realize how he should appreciate Ai's sacrifices more.

Thank you so much for commenting! Yeah, MC1T has dwindled lately. I recently returned, though, so maybe others will, too?

Oh, good! Background info was something I worried about, so thanks for letting me know that wasn't a problem for you. The fic begins where the OVA's dream ends, since it had left me asking, "Okay, so Ran's deciding to wait longer, and Shin'ichi's fine with this?" The fic was my attempt to answer that, and it evolved into Conan and Ai à la Gurren Lagann ("Believe in the me who believes in you!").

Whew, thanks for that assurance, too! More than anything, my greatest desire in fics is to keep characters IC. We love them for a reason, no~?

From reading your entries (sorry for not commenting more often, but, I always read your posts!) I get the impression you're not fond of watching shows illegally, so here's a really detailed summary of the OVA from the Detective Conan World Wiki-complete with screencaps! That said, it's one of the better OVAs-my second favorite one, in fact-so, I encourage you to watch it. Hope that helps!
