I'm feeling a big fangirl obsession with XM-FC creeping up! I think although Fassbender is getting the majority of the credit, it was actually the revolutionary portayal (by Macavoy? by the writers?) of Xavier as such an almost smug charmer that has somehow really grabbed me. It makes for the first time his crippling seem actually tragic as opposed to just a part of the look of the character. Was he *ever* like this in the comics? i can't remember..This and the Mystiquie semi sibling relationship seem like the clever new concepts of the reboot, which make the bromance frankly much more interesting than the decades old agonising between Magneto and Xavier over whether to go for conquest or assimilation.
