Got a new μjob -- a one-day gig: Poll Worker! I'll work 6am - 9:30pm, with two hours off for lunch and dinner. LOOOOOONG DAY!!! Pays $105, but takes FOUR MISERABLE WEEKS to pay me. Oh well. Need the bux now, but I'm sure I'll need them then too.
Today (Saturday) I go for the two-hour orientation. Whee! I'm hoping to find out that I'll be able to vote (somehow, perhaps with a provisional ballot) at the Pasadena Church Polling Place that I've been assigned to work in, which is ~20min from my personal assigned Polling Place in my city. I don't want to eat up my very essential Lunch or Dinner time travelling begtween my Work Polling Place and my Assigned Voting Polling Place.
Tuesday is the Big Day, the LOOOOOOONG DAY!!! Though I haven't delved into the local stuff yet, or into props 98 & 99, I will have to prepare for that too, on top of my Poll Worker Duties. The job sounds long and probably tedious, but since it's my first time I'm kinda hopefully excited about seeing how the real nuts and bolts of voting actually work here (we're using Inka Vote, I believe).
P.S. I'm happy to consider any advice on 98 & 99 anyone wants to offer. And, heck, any other advice too. :)
P.P.S. I don't remember *ever* spending over 12 hours in a church!!
