the show in green bay tonight was a lot of fun- both bear proof suit and master heartache are really awesome, and bob burns and the breakups were really good, and aluminumknoteye were great as well. and i had one of the best tostadas i've had in my life (i am a tostada conoisseur) at taco burrito mexico. the exclusive company up there has the best ( Read more... )

Don't like The Infections??? The only really good musical endeavor that Greg Lowery has ever been a part of and you don't like it? Or was it a case of the Ripoffs breaking up and you were bummed and just dissed them from the start since it was Greg and Shane's "new band"? Their album and the Reds first album are the only things on Ripoff that I ever listen to any more but if Lowery put out the Bob Burns album then I'd listen to that all the fuckin time--they smoked! What's your take on Marked Men v. Reds in terms of Ripoff releases???

My take is that the first Reds album is better than the second and the second Marked Men album is better than the first. Also the two times I saw the Marked Men they bored me because it's essentially the same music as the Reds without that killer look and stage presence that gave them the sort of four-guys-as-one-powerful-force attitude I like bands to have. I'd give MM another shot live, though.
