slavery and immigrants?

One of my classes in this, my final quarter at the UW, is American history (again). This time, it's early American history as taught by (ready for this?) an Englishman. We spent a good two weeks talking about the early colonists and what was going on in Britain at the time. Turns out politics in Britain had quite a lot to do with current events
