Saturday morning we found the hanging bird feeder in pieces on the deck. The hummingbird feeder lay beside it with very large tooth marks in the cover. T started bringing them in at night. Last night around midnight I heard Lilac hit the door with great enthusiasm. This morning the deck was licked clean

I had this visual of T bringing in the pieces of the broken feeder and then carefully laying them back out the next day.. giggle. I dont have bears, but the damn raccoons like to pull the bird suets out of the feeders.

We only do suet when it's very very cold and hope someone other than the bears gets it.

We have raccoons smart enough to hold a Hylarious/hopper feeder open and shovel out the birdseed.

So when I get it back up, I will put only enough in each AM for the day's birds...
