Thanks and the L Word

Thanks to everyone who answered my fandom for a title question, they've come in very handy. Although as I didn't know half the fandoms it's made me once again realise how piss poor my tv watching has become lately. I would have answered individually but it would just have ended up with me writing 'cheers' fourteen times and that's a little mind ( Read more... )

I want the kind of couple where I'm so anxious to find out if they get together or not that I'll risk looking at the spoilers and then chastise myself for ruining the moment. None of the relationships this series had that type of appeal for me.

Yes, float oh raft of crazy, float away...

Just when you think Jenny cannot possibly be any more annoying... she is!

Yes, a bit more Lara would help. But then, I'm a sucker for a woman who'll make me breakfast...

The white chef's uniform was rather cute too.

My biggest problem with the relationships this season is that we already *know* they're doomed so why get invested? Bette/Jodi? Doomed! Shane/Paige? Doomed! Helena/Catherine? Doomed! etc, etc. The show seems to have this horrible pattern of putting couples together for the sole purpose of tearing them apart.

I think Alice/Tasha might survive but their relationship was totally rushed for IC's political grandstanding.

There was something about Kate I just didn't like.

Heh, she's the brain child and proxy of one EZgirl? And knowing that, the show has done something I didn't think was possible - made Annabelle Scorchinghot unwatchable!

And I'm with pax89, I hope that raft capsizes fifty miles out at sea and Jenny is completely erased from the fabric of time like she never even existed!

Oh, I missed the second half of season three, what happened to Lara?

After Dana's pointless death Lara comes back to LA (after the funeral and group scattering of ashes) and pretty much immediately has sex with Alice - it's a grief/comfort thing. They're together for a couple of months but during that time Alice is pretty numb and refuses to talk about what's happening between them (most of their relationship we had to infer as it took place during the 'six weeks later' part of an episode). During Shane and Carmen's wedding that wasn't Lara tries to push Alice into talking about things but she won't, but after some odd jumping off a mountain and talking to a female wedding afficiate thing, Alice is meant to be back on the road to recovery and ready to talk with Lara. During a cute little scene where they start to talk, Lara says she has something she needs to tell Alice but they're interupted and we don't find out what it is until the next season, when we find out Lara got offered a job in San Franciso and has moved on ( ... )

I think the scene where Bette's reading Lez Girls in bed was probably the best scene of the entire season. I was grinning like an idiot as I watched, and Jennifer Beals is a genious.

I think Bette being funny - usually in an annoyed/aggressive way - is generally pretty fun; I liked her 'arson, arson' line from way back too.

I really enjoyed this season and for me there were lots of little highlights. There is one thing I would like to mention. I loved the Alice/Tasha relationship - they are incredibly sweet together and oddly right for each other. Alice counteracts Tasha's seriousness and Tasha gives Alice more perspective on the wider world. It was a little rushed maybe but in the context that Tasha probably knew she might have to go back to Iraq then even that makes sense though she should have warned Alice ( ... )

I think if they hadn't rushed the Alice/Tasha relationship and allowed us to get to know Tasha outside of her romance with Alice, that I'd have been much more into the pairing ( ... )

I think I prefer Talice - maybe Alisha. (Actually that reminds me of Papi so perhaps not! Although I quite liked ol' Pops in the end.)

Unrelatedly - I hope that Helena gets a better run next season cause that really was a useless storyline. Although I enjoyed the season a lot there were too many storylines and not enough time for each one - there was too much flotsam that should have been jetsam. Why introduce Catherine at all? Wouldn't it have been more fun to introduce Helena to the world of poverty and shoes that only cost $50 and grifting via say Papi?

Damn it Ralst we should be the writers! (As long as someone else writes the endings for us...)

I couldn't agree more. Poor Helena, stuck with such a pointless storyline when the opening was there for something really good. They seemed to add new characters left and right until they were well passed saturation point. They needed some internal stories to keep the numbers down.

If only we were the writes you could have your Talice and we could both make sure Helena got a decent storyline and love interest. And we wouldn't have to worry about endings as this show never really seems to do them.
