I LOVED that bit where Jack called Dean an old man and Dean's FACE made it so clear, that was NOT part of their script! :P LOL He was NOT expecting that, and he looked so adorably offended! :P
I think the bit with the air fresheners WAS to mask the scent so it could avoid detection, and the fly traps were probably just to catch all the actual normal non-monstery flies attracted by the rotting meat in the building. Also, I didn't think there was any need for Sam and Charlie to know about the rest of the fly-monster clan, because the rest of them weren't a threat. Sam explained that it was these solitary ones going off by themselves that makes them dangerous. In their tribes/families, they're harmless. So I figure they don't really need to hunt/kill the rest of them, and Sam's usually all about letting harmless monsters live. ;)
