This just keeps getting better and better...err...not!

First, I found out you can't record any audio with Windows Vista. Okay, I said, I can work around that by using the Mac. Then I had problems with Windows Movie Maker not accepting .avi files & crashing. I solved those problems. Then I made the seemingly innocent mistake of putting the computer in Sleep Mode one evening and lost my internet ( Read more... )

*thwacks your computer soundly*

do you know anyone who's got XP SP2 that you can re-install in your vista box? just get rid of vista, and have XP on a new box. :)

And I still haven't installed SP1 onto my Vista desktop yet. *sigh* I'm close to doing it though. It's just a little matter of finding/making the time. Plus when I do use the desktop computer I've got all these things to do and I don't want to put a halt on everything just to install the SP. But I know it needs to be done...and soon. Bah. *kicks self*

And believe me, if the SP1 doesn't solve my internet issues on the computer? Back to XP I go! *iz sick of Vista*

I'm really, REALLY afraid of buying my next computer and it would be VISTA. I've read so much bad things about it. I'm really scared, what am I going to do without all my software that isn't working in Vista? :o

*crosses her fingers that my laptop doesn't die yet for a long, LONG time to come!*

Good luck with solving the internet problem! I hope you find a solution, because it sounds like it sucks big time.

I know not everyone has issues with Vista, but there are a lot of them. Much more than I recall reading about with XP. I never had any trouble with XP and I was one of the first people to have it. It was just rock solid. Vista is a total wimp next to it. For all their trying to fix Window's security issues, they totally forgot about everything else with the operating system. *sigh* Yeah, still bitter.

If installing SP1 on my Vista desktop doesn't solve the internet issue, I'll have no choice but to go back to XP. It worked!

Vista just sucks. I was watching it for couple of months and then got rid of it and installed XP - now i'm very happy woman. But your crashing problems look like it could be some hardware stuff or some virus that could mess with hardware... maybe you need to consult with someone from that store you bought yout comp?

Well luckily, the crashing every hour stopped. I don't even know why. I'm grateful it seemingly fixed itself though.

I SO understand you! Maybe it's not right that you didn't fix the problem yourself and still don't know the reason of those crashes but it's so relieving when it stops - you can't think of anything else - just enjoying :)

I'm getting a new computer, but I'm getting XP Professional instead of Vista.

Ah, very wise choice. I might go back to XP myself if SP1 for Vista doesn't fix my internet issues.
