I was so embarrassed when I saw this. I find it so crazy that fans do this and then they get upset when the show comes up with the Becky character.
When I met Jared for the first time, I made sure to be very polite and well spoken. The photo ops was the first item of the day at the con I went to. So I went up to Jared when it was my turn, held out my hand, and simply said "Hi, Jared. I'm (insert name here). It's nice to meet you.". He seemed pretty surprised by this. I don't know if it's because he didn't expect it from me or because he doesn't get that a lot at cons. Even the people I was with remarked that he looked pleasantly surprised. Now lets just convince everyone else to act politely. I know it's hard. Trust me, my stomach was doing gymnastics at that moment but I stuck my ground.
We gotta remember that a few bad eggs can spoil the bunch.
Well, I like the Becky character, but I realize she's an amalgamation of all of us and I'm ok with that. Do I wish some fans would learn some manners and how to act around the guys? Yes, of course. I guess that's why I feel it's important that this video be seen.
When I first shook hands with Jensen it was right after a photo-op. He didn't hesitate at all. Now I've asked for hugs with the guys during photo-ops, but that was only because I judged how they were feeling about giving them to the fans in line ahead of me. Even then, it took a lot of courage on my part to even ask them. It's a very intimate action and you don't want to make them feel awkward about it. I don't want to feel awkward about it either.
I can't even watch past the first ten seconds or so, it's just too awkward and Jensen looks so uncomfortable. :( Damn, I don't even watch the show anymore and I wouldn't do that to them.
Edit: I watched the rest of it, and Jared was so nice about it, too! Just, very polite - probably pissed off that he has to deal with fans outside of his hotel, but he wasn't rude about it.
I'm embarrassed just watching this. This is exactly Becky Rosen. The guys are just arriving at the hotel and they get bombarded with fangirls. Yikes! Give the poor guys a break. They are probably tired and hungry and just want to check in to their rooms and get some sleep and eat. Asking for pictures is one thing, but then going and hugging them, like she did to Jensen, very unnecessary. I do feel sorry for the guys.
