I have reached that point with my WIP list lately where no matter what I sit down to work on, there will be that nagging voice in the back of my mind telling me I really ought to be working on one of the other ones (it would be nice if this at least deterred me from compounding the problem by starting new stuff, but... well, let's just say that

You know, I actually did read a fic about that scene once, which I found somewhere in the bowels of The Pit way back when I first got into the fandom and (I can only assume) was desperate enough for fic to read anything, because it was drivel. Between that association and how my default reaction to bad dubbing is to mentally filter it out, I don't think there's much I could do with that one

Surprising but most probably because a high school fic may be cliche in other fandoms but I don't I have seen any with WADE! Definitely not any which take themselves seriously?)

I think there's one or two more HS AUs lurking in the cabledeadpool archives somewhere, though I don't remember much about them so they couldn't have particularly grabbed me. It really is the ultimate in cliche-fic scenarios (probably thanks to ridiculous overuse in fandoms dominated by teenaged fans), but they *are* a real guilty pleasure of mine when you find one done well - and canon has already given us Teen!Nate, and Wade is mentally about fifteen at the best of times so it wasn't much of a stretch. ;)
