Shortish part today, mostly angsty Watanuki instrospection. I'm coming to the realisation at the moment that now that I've gotten to the second of those original two scenes I wrote, I'm through all the stuff I had well planned out and out into less well charted territory. So, uh, if anyone feels they might be able to bounce some ideas for Doumeki's

I've had her in mind for an appearance as a ghost for a while now. She has, well, enough canonical practice with the role, you might say. ^^; Did I mention my guilty little secret where I am sort of maybe using this fic as an excuse to write for my random favourite CLAMP characters? And of course Hokuto deserves all kinds of love. I'm glad this first reaction would seem to indicate she came across okay, anyway - it's been a while since I last read Tokyo Babylon, so my memory of her character is not at its freshest.

I wouldn't have thought I did either - but then one day I sat down long enough to make mental list of my favourite CLAMP females, and discovered she was very near the top. She's like a stealth favourite or something. Where indeed? *g* It's my post-apoc AU, and I'll indulge if I want to.

It seems likely everyone's going to be in the same boat there - but then I guess at least if I haven't done such a good job with her character, no-one might notice. >.>

BTW, have you read lunargeography's Much Ado About Nothing fic over at the libri_holic AU? She writes a great Hokuto too. ^__^

HOKUTO!!! YAY!!! ^_^ Does this mean Subaru will show up, too? I thought at first Watanuki was talking to Himawari-chan, but apparently not.

I find it weird that the TRC gang call Doumeki 'Shizuka' and Watanuki calls him Doumeki in his mind. I actually stopped to think for a second or two - who the hell was Shizuka? - before it clicked. XD

There was precedent for this kind of reaction from him, of course, years back, but with his heart so broken as it had been then, he’d thought at least he must have learnt his lesson.

Wait...backstory? I can feel the plot thickening! :D And hopefully their little misunderstanding will be cleared up soon..

Presumably there must be (or have been) a Subaru out there in this world somewhere, but I'm afraid I've actually got no idea where. And I've probably got enough random cameo characters in this thing now as it is. ^^;

You can blame Fye for the fact the TRC crew seem to refer to Doumeki by his first name. Kurogane doesn't use names much at all, but Fye is automatically on a first name basis with everyone, whether they like it or not, and Syaoran and Sakura would have picked it up from him. XD

Watanuki backstory shall be coming up very soon. ^_^

I just randomly wanted to state that that icon epitomizes the quandary that CLAMP has inflicted on my poor befuddled mind.

THE MYSTERY! Cause really, wtf are they. That question has given me brain hemorrhoids late at night from the complete unsolveddness of it.

*GLOMPS* I just re-read TB yesterday (getting nostalgic since there's been no xxxHOLiC for so long) and Hokuto appearing in your story is such a welcome surprise! :D She doesn't seem OOC in the least to me - her talk with Watanuki reminded me of how lovingly and softly she scolded talked to her own brother... You did great! ^_~

It was just so utterly unlike him to become attached to anyone.

Know what you mean, I'm really missing holic too. ;_; But it's great everyone's enjoying my little Hokuto-cameo so much - especially if you've reread TB recently enough to know if I'd gotten anything wrong. ^__^

They haven't really had a lot of screentime so far, but their backstories are going to become very important later on, so there should be plenty more of them to come.
