Hrmph. I just went on a Grumpy Bear search for you and came up with nothing. It's kind of strange because I just got a Grumpy Bear from Hot Topic not that long ago. :\

Heh. Thanks for checking. I found a few, but they're the big 10" ones -- I want a little one to sit on my computer monitor.

I could really use one today.

I haven't seen anything recently regarding Care Bears other than the merchandise everywhere, but I'm betting it's something stupid like thinking it's not okay for kids to be grumpy and that it's reinforcing negative ideas, or some BS like that.

I was also looking for skates for my son who does not have the best balance on flat land so I couldn't get him blades. I finally found skates at Sketchers and he loves them. I tried on a pair myself and they are so comfortable! Much more than the roller-rink style skates they had back in my day (early 80's). But, it sounds like your niece took to blading like a champ. Good for her!

Hmm... yeah, I never would have thought of checking at Sketchers! She is doing pretty well on the rollerblades though. Takes to it much more easily than I ever took to skating, that's for sure.
