6 Months and One Lifetime Away

Last night, after getting home from dinner and karaoke with a friend, I began looking through old pictures on my computer. For the first time since getting to Japan, I allowed myself to finally flip through a folder entitled "Goodbye, Chicago," which chronicles my last two weeks in the Windy City. (You can check out some of the pictures in my "OopsRead more... )

I understand what you mean about Chicago. While I don't -live- there, I used to spend a lot of time there since the town I'm from is about 2 hours away.

I've had some spectacular experiences in Chicago, all at the same time I've been attacked by a shoe salesman and yelled at by an HR executive for an MLM scam (That I didn't discover till I got there.)

The city feels incredibly bipolar to me because of the times I've had there. That's why I tend to avoid trying to move to larger cities. It's an unfair generalization, but the smaller city I live in is more accessible, liberal enough, and cheaper than being in Chicago. While some of the things I find exciting do go through Chicago, good enough things go through here that I don't miss the hassle of trying to go see the stuff I used to see in Chicago.

Hi, I found your journal searching for people who live near Yokohama. I just moved here last week with my husband, so I thought it'd be nice to find some other people who live in the area :-) Mind if I add you?
