If you were in a situation (work related, love/friendship related, etc) and there really would be no back and forth, or lets say it SEEMS like there isn't to you and suddenly someone would promise you to take care of all your problems with only a snap, meaning they would be all erased at once under one condition that you would lose all the people ( Read more... )

I couldn't imagine giving up those closest to me for any situation. I really am trying to imagine a situation that's so helpless that I would be forced into making a decision like that but I just can't.

I think with the help of my closest friends I can overcome or at least survive the worst of situations, whereas on my own, i'd be completely helpless.

Mhm, being alone we are too weak to get through life, at least I think so. And I am glad that this was your answer, haha. xD

I would do it.

If you mean something like Eternal Sunshine?

Un, Mizzy would do it for sure.

Oh I didn't watch that movie, but after reading the plot now, it's scary how similar it sounds to my idea. xD;

You really would do it? Of course you wouldn't remember these persons, since 'erased' would mean they never 'existed' for you, but really? :o

It's one of my favorite movies~ ( ^ g ^ ) b

I would. Really really would.

In a way, I think it's already possible. Not to erase like that, but...

Selective blocking of memories shouldn't be that hard to do. People create false memories all the time without really even meaning to. The reverse seems very possible. Trauma patients often don't remember the incident, blocking it out.. Why should they be the only lucky ones?

Maybe it can be seen as the easy way out, but.. It's a way out. It's better to have a way out, any way out, than to be stuck in one place forever. No way out is ever easy.

Aaaaah I understand what you mean.

I don't really agree with your opinion, but if you'd be happy with your decision it definitely wouldn't be wrong to do.

As compelling as it sounds in a situation like that, I wouldn't.

With every shortcut, there has to be some kind of catch. Losing the people involved in the problems might seem like a good idea, but the consequences will catch up with you. Eventually.

Everyone has their own problems. Sometimes they'll seem hopeless. Getting rid of the causes won't make everything better. Without any rain, there's no rainbow, right? That's what I think. (笑)

Mhm, that sounds nice. Things normally change to the better, eventually!

No, I wouldn't do it.

Dealing with obstacles (situations, surroundings, people) and problems is part and parcel of life. Take that away and you'll more or less be living for nothing.

It's prolly like living a 'perfect' life and still being bored of it.

And I never said one wouldn't end up in another nasty situation.... and if they'd did it once they would always do it again and... they would be really lonely, just because they can't face problems.....

And I shouldn't spam you with my thought, sunbaenim. xD;

You should've specified that they would still end up in bad situations despite wishing away their problems then. (smile) And it's all right, I enjoy reading other people's views.

Inability to face problems would be really bad, don't you think? It's running away from it, in a sense, and everyone knows running away from your problems don't magically make it disappear.

People shouldn't be afraid of confronting their problems head-on. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Yeah I guess so.. I didn't really thought of an end for this when I typed it down....

A lot of people can't think that way though... it's an ideal... and thus hard to achieve!

Though I really try to live that way.
