a 7 year old girl has been kidnapped from our neighborhood. it was around 3pm right in front of her own house! the little girl is our upstairs neighbor's own cousin. they say their mamaghar is unbearable, since the mom hasn't eaten for days and cries all the time ( Read more... )

wow. that's just crazy. it's really kind of scary when stuff like that happens near you because you always think that it only happens to someone else. it's like the time freshman year when a girl got raped right outside my dorm one night and it could have just as easily been me since i would walk alone after dark a lot.

i hope they find her okay.

yeah, exactly. for a while, the closest thing to kidnapping in my life were the 'missing children' posts i'd see when i entered walmart.

but anything, rape, kidnapping, death, can be nearby. life is so uncertain.

Hi I came across this posting. I hope you don't mind me writing in. I agree with you on this. Maiti Nepal does a great job of rescuing the trafficked girls. If you are in KTM and get a chance I recommend paying them a visit. It is worth every minute to learn about all the strong girls who have gone through so much.

i once saw a documentary on circus girls in nepal. it was really heartbreaking. sometimes their parents would be forced to send them to work because they were so povertystricken..others were just orphans who had no other options.
