3. the applet for Puerto Rico
4. any instant messenger I download (besides gtalk and msn messenger)
5. almost anything I have to download and install

We have vista and have only had dvd drive issues with it so far, some of which were just solved by getting a new dvd drive. John says we have a copy of XP but we may want to use it so he doesn't want to give it away just yet. Maybe you could try craigslist to find a cheap one? - MEJ
