Get back!

Hello, all.

When a man posts after such a long time, there's always the thought of what finally prompted it: is it a sprawling, apologetic I'vebeenbusy post that reupdates the world that cares?; it is something groundbreakingly massive, like the announcement of wedding banns?; is it a newly inspired eruption of delightfully mellifluous writing?; ( Read more... )

Ultimate Spider-Man's 23rd issue! Umm...when Gwen Stacy sneaks in to Peter's house? :-) Bendis is great but I have become a big-time fan of Jeph Loeb's Batman Hush series. Some people are not-so-happy about my DC inclination but God, Batman rocks and Poison Ivy is the best villain ever.

Being a recent convert, I am not the right person to answer your question. However, if Ultimate Spider-Man Super Special (Direct Edition) falls in the 90 bucks category, you must buy it. I absolutely love the way its art varies and it also has a cameo by Fantastic Four. :-)

The last paragraph of your post is full of interesting proclamations. Keep us updated on stuff. Happy Diwali.

Loeb rocks! The last bit with you-know-whos wife. huh?

If you get a chance (don't buy, the artwork is kinda lousy) get Batman : four of a kind. The poison ivy story is waaay cool :D

you faith-reaffirming little wonder, you. :)

no, not when Gwen sneaks in, but when good John Stacy dies.

Loeb is good, one of the best people [in my opinion, even better than Miller] to handle the Bat, but the character of Batman himself isn't among my favourites. I actually root for Supe when the two confront each other, and that says a lot. Batman is a great comic entity, but that is on the verge of the best villains in all of comicdom.

Catwoman? Sure, she's a decent enough meow.

But she ain't no Black Cat. ;)

First off, the book... Nanowrimo, or indie?

You already have my Spidey:Blue, you don't want to pick that up. Pick up DD:Yellow. Way cool. Also, there are four Super Specials of the Ultimate X-Men. They are collected TPBs, and Mark Millar is quite good. Highly recommended. Plus it features Colossus as a Russian Arms dealer. :)

Like the lady said, Ultimate Spidey's Super Special is nice too. Written by Ellis, Millar, Bendis and more. A true Super Special. I'm not too big on the DC ones, but you can try whatever catches your fancy. Oh, and Iron Man #1 is pretty decent for the only 2 Iron Man fans in India. Um, you and me. Over to beatzo.

I'm buying Blue because I lost yours, 'member? *sigh* Have read DD:Yellow ages ago, and yes, it was rather good. The X-Men? Really? Hmm. What word on Wolverine:Origin? [It's winter, and this is the season I begin liking Logan - will explain that later]

You and me is right. Surprising how the world isn't more enamoured by Tony Stark. Guess we need Hollywood assistance on this one. ;)

Origin is a blast. Don't go looking for any real answers though. Oh, and do get the Marvels TPB. You know it's good.

You know what, I'm even okay with Cruise so long as they get the movie underway. I'm hearing good things about Iron Man #1, the new run too. Hope when it comes to India, we get a few more converts.

my brother, that character is heavily underrated. give him an appropriate heartthrob - a depp is you must, only that depp's way too cool to be stark -- he's edgier.. i can't think of a comic character that edgy.. unless, of course, he's a bad guy.. a depp as Lex Luthor, or a depp as Electro .. now that's serious coolth.

But anyway, getting back to Starkness: he needs pin-up boy, great soundtrack, and a nipplefree suit to die for which has the angularity of a Lamborghini.

Then see all these kids come back and say 'o we always loved him'

:D

yes, The Marvels is something I loved from the second it came out.

Yay! More people to add to my friends list :D.

So I had to look up and find out what has Gotham released under specials.Things I do for friends:

Daredevil with spidey -- Alex Ross cover practical joke by DD what else do you want ?Daredevil man without fear and yellow are both exceellleent.
JLA Tower of babel is nice, the rest I need to know the name of the author. Spidey Blue is excellent and if the revenge of GG contains 'death of Gwen Stacy' GET IT!!
Get any ultimate that you can get your hands on millar/bendis have had great runs here.

I don't like elseworlds/imaginary worlds et al. And I don't like iron man. Thats just my opinion.
And a very happy diwali.

Heh. Thanks, dude, you rock. That is serious effort, oh man of steel.

I see there's a DD fan behind that Kryptonian exterior, and I might just bite, even though I'm not a massive fan of Stevie Wonder swinging across New York. Yellow was pretty brill, but then Loeb and Sale... *sigh*

JLA? Thanks, interesting recommendation.

Yeah, I'm not a big 'imaginary worlds' person myself, especially because they end up getting too repetitive, ironically.
