Dearest mother,

We have reached our third stopover somewhere here in the south. We're not exactly close to our destination, but it's already quite far from Japan. They feed the travelers well; the food here in the ship is rather stale, but what are we to do. Still, I try my best to eat.
My trip around the world is beginning to toy around with my health, mother; had I known I was seasick, I would have taken another route with another kind of vehicle, preferably one with wheels and is used for travelling by land. Nevertheless, I am fine, mother.
I realized that my educational trip might take some time. I might not see you and father for a few years, but do not fret, I will return to my homeland with a satifsied heart.
Take care of yourselves, mother. Until my next letter.
