Going to sleep at a reasonable hour last night turned out to be an unattainable goal. At five a.m. I sat outside on the porch smoking Pall Malls and listening to Richard Hell go on about comic books. I couldn't stop laughing despite Richard imploring me to take it seriously, because the story lines and characters were all so absurd
