Hmmm...

Well, both of them appreciate a good fight, and they seem to be pretty evenly matched. Megatron can take Sideswipe, of course, but a rousing brawl would be in their best interest. Sideswipe likes someone who can throw him around and at the same time provide intelligent conversation; Meg likes someone who's not constantly shivering in terror around him and isn't afraid to mouth off.

Their mutual fire and passion for fighting could be a reason to draw them together, and as a merchant, Sideswipe had to have seen some of the corruption going on in the Towers, so he can sympathize there. They just seem to mesh to me--Sideswipe admires Megatron and Meg gets a berthmate he can knock around and be affectionate with all at once.
