Getting copies of the case files rather than the originals sounds *better* to me, if not to Sherlock. No need to mess with the Yard's paper trail.

I loved that you mentioned Lestrades compatance. I loved Moffets explanation of Lestrade of being the man you want solving your mystery if Sherlock wasn't around. It's fun to write him as a excellent DI, who is smart enough to take advantage of all the help he can even if the help is an irritating git. hehehehehe
Oh that comforting scene was difficult to write. Tyring to find the Sherlockian version. I was glad you liked the tone of it.

Just one Britpicky thing: 'Civil Partnership' is the term for same-sex registered unions. When a man and a woman marry at a register office, it's still called marriage.
