I'm so sorry. At least you were prepared for it, somewhat, and it didn't happen out of the blue. I've been preparing myself for 2 years that my cat will die, because she had kidney stones, but she's still here, and better.

Oh crap, now I'm crying; my dog is about 10 years old and I don't think I'll be able to cope when she passes away.
