I can understand that bit about the oven, because I'm so proud of the floors I don't want anyone spilling their crums and juice on them.

Matei's love of accurate reporting never fails to delight me. Even that time when I attended the Mother's Day concert at his school and when being asked who was his special person he said "I love my daddy. (pause) I love my Mummy too, although not as much as my Daddy."

I bought a mini steam cleaner. That was a mistake because it cleans about 10sqcm before running out of water and then inflicts 2nd degree burns on anyone foolish enough to try and refill it without waiting the proscribed 30 mins!

So, my house is still dirty.

We must meet up again soon. x

Yes, let's meet up soon!
Are you planning any more trips to Garden Centres? Z and I are on the hunt for ferns and magnolias and will need to take it further afield than Homebase.

You're also welcome to borrow my steam cleaner whenever you like. It is very light and compact. I'd suggest a steam cleaning party but that thing needs to be operated while absolutely sober.

Definitely up for garden centre trip in the near future. I've been clearing pots ready for Spring and now I need new plants!

Am off to Norwich tonight for a couple of days. Am free beginning of next week if you fancy a Vietnamese meal or similar?

Er, joining you in the 'omg my teenage self would be amazed!' feeling.

Out of interest, what kind of steam cleaner did you get? Would you recommend it?

I got this one: Karcher Steam Cleaner.

It is not the cheapest, but it's worked very well for me. (Much better than a variety of other mops I tried out. I saw some cheaper ones but they had mixed reviews.

My older son went off to Scout camp over Easter.
Looking after only one child was ridiculously relaxing.

It's so true. It's the parenting equivalent of A Squash and a Squeeze.

I am desperate for a steam cleaner - I'm trying to fight the urge and channel my inner teenager but it is futile! Which one did you get?

After reading this and spoofed talking about using them I want one too...reeeeally want one. I'm just imagining the possibilities in the bathroom which the previous owner did not clean as regularly or thoroughly as perhaps she should have.

Oh the tiles. I cry when I think about tiles and the hours of my time (pre-steamer) that I spent trying to scrub tile and grout.

I got Karcher Steam Cleaner. It was a bit pricey but it's worked brilliantly.
