I was all set to run off and find this and then I foolishly read down to the spoilers. I'm not sure my heart can take the pain! I should've paid more attention to the genre tag, shouldn't I?

Ahhhh! I knew this would happen! Would it help if I said the ending is... hopeful, if not exactly happy?

Well, it never hurts to have cute schoolgirls with automatic weapons and Tsutsumi Shinichi, so that might be enough to convince me.

It's better when you accept that you're a horribledirtywrong person and ship them hell out of them. The piggyback rides! The soulful discussions on nighttime bridges! He buys her contacts! She wears his jacket!

*scrolls too fast to read spoilers*

um, must looked at genres--hilarity and soul-crushing?

*wails*

But it sounds so awesome T__T I guess that juxtaposition suggests it is awesome . . .

I'm so behind already on things you've pimped that I want to see . . . I guess one more to the list isn't going to kill me ^^"

You'll be hysterical one way or another, whether by laughter or tears, depends on the episode. XD There are only seven, by the way. It was a short drama. A perfect weekend distraction. *tempts*

Only 7 . . . huh . . .

so do they juxtapose the hilarity and angst in an alternating way, or do they start with one and end with the other . . . ?

Why am I even asking . . .

*trundles off to jdrama*

Because angst is what I need after grading a stack of papers T__T

*zips lips* I've already said too much!

Because angst is what I need after grading a stack of papers

Consider it catharsis.

Should I feel bad for reading the spoilers? lol. I'm such a spoiler whore though ahahhaa. but omg OMG. hottie kneeling at her FEET. and then then machine gun toting adorable school girl. YES *___* I AM SO WATCHING THIS.
and hurray for death and carnage! *sadist* lol but srsly, I heard about this drama before but only knew it was the drama where masami is a cute school girl/yakuza boss. and thought it would be slapstick and dumb. so i didnt bother. but turns out, it's pretty damn fucked up! o__o i'm just glad i knew ahead of time. or i might have had a real shock XD

LIKE ME. *SOBS* I HAD NO IDEA. I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING GOKUSEN HIJINKS. INSTEAD I GOT A MOUNTAIN OF CORPSES.

The really cruel part? (Assuming you don't mind more spoilers.) Sakuma gets shot in ep 3 but MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVES!!! ala every jdrama fakeout you've ever seen. Then the deaths really start with ep 4. I watched this character bleeding out on the pavement like "oh please, like we're supposed to believe that when you just faked us out, I'm going to buy i... it... hey... WHY ISN'T HE BREATHING??? .....oh my god."

*pats* You poor dear, I've so been there. not with any jdramas I can think of but a couple of films. Like children of men, I went in expecting some strange action movie set in a surreal world or something but even though it was surreal it was SO like our world and holy crap that movie fucked me up so bad. I dont think I've cried that much at a movie in my WHOLE life. Even hotel rwanda, and I cried ALOT at hotel rwanda. I had to cover my eyes a few times man! and I'm pretty hard to upset you know? but i was like OMG i just ahhh. ok i'll stop. basically dont watch that movie unless you have like a heart of stone or something. shit. and another movie and this one was even more of a shock since what ithought it was SO different from the actuality. like the movie Osama, you ever heard of it? it's a foreign film set in afghanistan. and I heard the girl has to dress as a boy to get by, so I'm like thinking, mulan type of deal. less disney but like about a girl overcoming the odds and all that. but i just. OMG I WAS SO WRONG. what happened to ( ... )

You know I had to look up Osama, right?

As time went on, however, the director grew dissatisfied with the ending and changed it, and also cut out other scenes in the movie that expressed hope.

........ GOD FORBID?? Do I want to know what happened in the "disturbing" scene when her secret was discovered?

so do even masami and tsutoumi's chara's die too?

I can't spoil everything! XD

I remember i started watching this and loving it and then once the people... you-know-what i'd stopped. Which was a shame 'cos i effing LOVED Tsusumu and the guys (but was pretty meh about Masami - as usual).

Also, i have had to reload my 'net to view this page about 6 times. ::smacks it::

ALSO, was trying to finish Monster Parents (RYOKO IN HOT SUITS!) and was wondering when you're gonna pimp a Ryoko drama? YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO...

See, this was my first Masami drama, which sealed my love eternally. SCHOOLGIRL WITH A MACHINE GUN. When I realized fandom hated her it just blew my mind. "But she had a machine gun!"

wondering when you're gonna pimp a Ryoko drama

I WILL GET RIGHT ON THAT. Koshonin first, you think?

I remember liking her at first and then something turned me off her for some reason. I REALLY can't remember now and it's annoying. The machine gun didn't help though. Although i madly shipped her/Tsutsumu. me not liking her didn't stop that lol.

Well, for me it's a toss up between Koshonin and Katagoshi no Koibito. Koshonin gets it for the Usagi/Mariya but Katagoshi had her, ~*KANAME JUN*~, marriage affairs, smexing of school kids, and GAYNESS GALORE.

Up to you really then. Love Generation was pretty fantastic too.

Mmmmmmm. He was in his prime for this drama. Ogata was sexy as hell too, but nothing beats the kind of worshipful devotion on Sakuma's face as he knelt and promised his life to her.

I think I'll go for Koshonin first, since I already have the screencaps. I'll need to redownload Katagoshi if I want to properly represent the plot the beauty of Kaname Jun's sullen gay face.
