It was one of my first too! Actually, I watched HYD on the heels of Gokusen and didn't even realize Shin had turned into Doumyouji. Or that Doumyouji was singing the theme song.

It really should. It was actually the first drama I've ever watched, and I've never encountered anybody who watches dramas and hasn't seen Hanadan except my brother. (Hell, sometimes it's the only drama they've ever seen.) On the other hand you've succeeding in making me nostalgic for Domyouji's bad hair and worse clothes, and that can't be easy.

...I think I have the sweater Matsujun's wearing in one of those screenshots. Clearly I should burn it. *looks for lighter fluid*

I rewatched the entire drama looking for that pink coat, to the point where I was convinced I'd hallucinated it in some off-color fever dream of glittery scarves and ascots. I finally found it... in the finale. Of course. Point being, I couldn't even make up something that atrocious.

Ahhh Hanadan. I remember you, way back before JE when I didn't even know who Matsujun was except he had bad hair and shouted a lot...

The film is epic. Not that I understood half of what went on when we saw it without subs...The fact that JE produced it though says so much.
