One day I'll get tired of grand romantic gestures and grumpy dorks falling in love and cutesy scenes of happy shippy adorableness. But today is not that day.

That would be a very sad day!

I'm very anxious to start this once I get a few other dramas off my plate.

Fair warning, it takes a few eps to get good. But I totally recommend it beyond that.

Yeah, I've heard it's pretty uneven throughout. I'm shamelessly in it for the promised love story, because I'm a giant sap.

Oh, you'll love it. *___* They hit just about every OTP staple. Handholding, kissing, dancing, riding bikes together, backwards hugs, shading a sleepy heroine from the sun, her touching his sleeping face... I could go on and on.

I'm up to ep 9, I think - I was watching it and felt like something with a somewhat faster pace, so I moved on to something else, but I'll definitely be finishing it off soon. Jo Guk is smokin', and I particularly like the bit where he LOOKS LIKE A MAN.

His assistant is gorgeous as well - he reminds me of Emo Prince's loyal sidekick in HGD, both for his attractiveness and willingness to follow him everywhere.

And Harry Potter guy is surprisingly attractive! I thought he was pretty cool, and I love the running joke about the night he spent with Jo Guk. Oh, and Mi Rae's best friend, the one with all the kids? She's fierce. I love it when we get awesome female friendship in dramas.

ALSO KISSING.

I think you're somewhere right around her becoming mayor? That was its golden period, IMO. Loved her getting in office and getting shit done, and Jo Guk desperately trying to balance his political ambitions with that pesky heart-tugging emotion he knew he couldn't afford.

The assistant was a total scene stealer. Every time he talked about how cute Mi Rae was and Jo Guk's face. :|

I didn't like the man-perm at all, but his wiki picture? I'd hit it. *__* I'm thinking of trying On Air next, since he's in it, or maybe Lovers since it's the same screenwriter as City Hall and stars Lee Seo Jin, one of the many men I will take in my harem once I enslave Asia.

Yes! I loved their friendship, how she wasn't just the heroine's Designated Best Friend, but they actually went through things together and had to work to keep their friendship functioning ( ... )

She still wasn't mayor when I was watching, I think I was one or two eps away from her taking office. It was fun and engaging but I was chomping at the bit for stuff to happen faster, which is why I wandered off to something else (which worked out wonderfully, since I picked up Spring Waltz, among other things ( ... )

Heeeee, I read on your journal you're having trouble engaging anything after Spring Waltz. I had the same problem, I tried and discarded about six kdramas before something finally stuck... I think it was Powerful Opponents, and only because Gwan Pil was a delicious buffet of repressed unrequited longing.

I expect he couldn't remember what it was like being just Jo Guk, man rather than Jo Guk, politician/fiance/son etc etc

Makes perfect sense to me, especially in light of (not spoilery for you, but ninja-texted in case anyone else is reading) Soo In's betrayal -- before that they'd had an easy, friendly relationship where Jo Guk didn't have to put on airs, because Soo In already knew how fake he was in front of the media/politicians/reporters etc, but once he lost that trust Jo Guk became the snappy untouchable man he had been with, say, Mi Rae in the beginning.

And speaking of, I love how open Jo Guk became around her, demanding hugs and always wanting to kiss her and hold her hand and play with her fingers. Sigh. ♥

many times I ( ... )

Grumpy dorks falling in love! Crazy triangle-faced villain! SUPER JUNIOR. What's not to like? Thank you for the hilarious rec!

*wiggles like a fish* I hope you enjoy! It had its flaws but everyone was so lovable (or at least entertainingly un-lovable) and the romance was delicious and everything was so PRETTY.

Oh my god yes--the kiss scenes! ♥ anonymous January 4 2010, 06:09:53 UTC
I love this drama so ridiculously much. It is the best romance drama I have seen so far.

Have you seen the making of the kiss scene in the car,

or the making of the bed scene?

a;sfljfklsadfksdf OH MY GOD. Watching those made me flustered and giggly, I can only imagine how Kim Sun Ah feels. That must be the best job in the world -- laying around while hot guys plant kisses on you over and over.

"Just ask yourself one thing: have you ever seen government employees dancing to Super Junior? That should answer the question whether or not City Hall is for you." --> And if after the caps of those terrifying mascots and the tongue thing I wasn't sure, with that I'm sold!

I may have to download Super Junior too ...but I stopped listening to boyband years ago XD (the Lollipop song doesn't count)!! Oh the shame! How it burns! How it fails to stop me!

I assume you've seen this:

I HAD IT STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR A MONTH. We can never escape boybands, not totally.

Why so catchy, asian pop?

I see I clearly need to find a pimp post or something to begin, any suggestion :D?

Unfortunately I'm only into kpop for the music, which I know sounds hilarious, but it's true. I just download fun songs and videos. XD I could help you if you want catchy tunes?
