Duuude . . . I was so primed by Maou's use of lighting and heavy-handed symbolism that I actually came up with this ridiculous justification for the nudity which had something to do with the process of stripping people bare to be watched and how he's looking out the window flaunting everything, but not really thinking about what it would mean for him to be naked and seen.
I have to admit that I called most of the ending relatively early, except for Tazaki's acceptance at the end because wtf?? He has no business condoning or not because regardless of what the victim thought, the Producer chose to do what he did without knowing that . . . and that is so not forgivable >_Yes, I make all sorts of excuses for Naruse, but not for either of these two. So? *pouts

Dude! Wasn't he looking at the watch at the time? So that makes perfect sense. Awesome catch.
I called the ending except for her "acceptance" of her brother, which was all kinds of FAIL. She was raped, but it was okay because she enjoyed it? I know what they were trying to get at, but it was an awful way of handling it.
It's a shame because I've been waiting years for a TV character to say what Tazaki did -- for a show to have the balls to challenge the idea that incest is always wrong even in the most exceptional cases -- but fresh off the awful flashbacks, where Yamanobe clearly intended to rape her whether she loved him back or not -- it was in such poor taste./end babbling

Oh god, yes, FAIL FAIL FAIL. I was just completely enraged, both for that cop-out and for the Host's response to it, which was so ridiculous. Not cool, Japan.
Hmmm . . . I actually think Sho pulls off the host, especially in the game show arena--the Boy spent the whole time going 'holy shit! are you f-ing kidding me?" so I don't think it was me being overly biased. (Though , as you know, he has a soft spot for Sho and his pretty, so . . . maybe not

the Boy spent the whole time going 'holy shit! are you f-ing kidding me?"
Ha! Tazaki does inspire that reaction. I kept shouting "OH SNAP!" whenever he pulled a fast one, especially with Sato Jiro's character (the fake psychic).
The show was such a gratifying experience from a meta standpoint -- how many variety shows have we sat through? How cheesy and familiar was all the banter? And here comes Tazaki, only playing the game long enough to rip the guests apart. It's like Nakai if he suddenly snapped, or Downtown without the conscience. So fucking cool.
The cute newbie assistant AD or whatever does seem to like the producer, which will be an interesting spin, and the way they're setting up the events 8 years ago are also interesting
*Eight*? That's a big jump. I wonder if they're giving the producer a love interest to redeem him.
Honma and the victim in this case don't have the same last name, so I don't think it's going to be exactly the same back storySpeaking of names, that's something I never understood in the original. They

Now I understand why they chose two Johnnys for the second season! They had to outgay this! :D
(The producers for the show probably went "So we had naked dude and red thread rope binding the two main characters and grabbing each other suggestively last season - so what are we going to do for this season? ...Let's call the guys whose job it is to be suggestively gay at each other, OK?" when they made the casting decisions. XD

Poor Sho, I love him to death, really, but he wouldn't have been in my top fifty for this role. XD I do think Yoko was an inspired choice. They should've just Kanjani-ed the hell out of this drama and cast Subaru as Tazaki -- I mean, they obviously don't care about acting, and Subaru has the crazy eyes at least.
Except that - I really get the feeling, with their choice of actors, that they needed someone who could adlib in an emergency? In the one preview they stressed this "shot like a live show" thing, and if you're shooting for an hour at a time, in a quiz show like setting... well, you need someone who you can be sure can react like a real MC even when someone else forgets their text, or something, someone who won't just freeze and look at the director. And that's something Sho's definitely better at than most other Johnnys, including Subaru, I think.
So for the quiz show part I think he's probably a really good choice... too bad he's probably not really good enough an actor to make the psycho-part believable. :/ Though I remain hopeful - most people were really sceptical when it came to Ohno playing Naruse, and he did a really good job with that, so maybe Sho will pull out something equally astounding. ^-^

That totally boggles me. Like they have a live audience? The gameshow was only a front for a deeper story... the wording of some questions was absolutely crucial, and in the second half especially, everything hinged on specific reactions. It's not a format that invites adlibs. Why would the producers make such a decision?? D:
ACTUALLY HE KIND OF WAS. When Ohno's character first joins the kid's show, the Producer is already there as an egotistical bastard who's like THIS IS MY SHOW MINE MINE MINE YOU DO ANYTHING WRONG I WILL DESTROY YOOOOUUUUU
I'm watching it now, and Sho is a bit creepy. >_>; But I'm kind of gauging this in terms of Ohno-in-Maou creepiness levels, so right now it's kinda eh. xD

I don't think anything can out-creep Maou, though they certainly try. XD
