The state of games

For the most part, I'm a paperback video gamer.  I rarely buy new releases, in fact paying full price for a game makes me itchy all over.  I'm always on the lookout for a bargain - sometimes I let the fact that something is a good deal blind me to whether or not I really need something, which is why I still have PS2 games that haven't even been ( Read more... )

I considered getting the PC version of Crimson Skies back when it came out, then decided that I already had plenty of games that I wasn't playing. Interesting idea, but not quite interesting enough for me to plunk down $50 back in the days when $50 was about three tanks of gas.

The other thing is that I still haven't seen any combat flight sims that are better than the old Dynamix sims, like Red Baron II or Aces of the Pacific.

The "sim" aspect is really very light. I scraped over a few mountains and still managed to keep flying. I'm sure that a should have gone into a death spin quite a few times the way I was flying last night.

It's mainly the story colour that's dragged me in. I love shooting down zeppelins.

I have to be persuaded very hard to pay $50 for a game, though.
