[I didn't even look into it that much until I saw one AU comic where Kurou appeared dead but then appears somewhere else, and it was Kagura faking it. I wondered if that was an in-game scenario. Then I noticed there were a lot of mentions of crying over the ending, and then I see that Waka is crying and apologizing in almost all of the fanart, and in some the kid is glowing or fading, and... I SHAT BRICKS.]

About Kurou's possible origin.

LOL CLONES. And people look at me funny when I say he wasn't necessarily a son. Maybe Tsubasa jaded me. Maybe Tales of the Abyss made me cool with Cloning Blues again. But I was either counting on that or the kid being Waka (magical chibification OR timey wimey with his childhood self). But yeah, I like that he's a literal clone or replica or doll or something, it makes things crazier. He's batshit enough to clone himself centuries ago to help his cherie's kid. Hey, at least he didn't knock up some girl somewhere and abandoned a son, that's much worse IMO.

They keep saying they're fans of the original. I have no idea how they can say this and not feeling that Himiko's death wasn't emotive. Especially if you do the Water Brush Technique upgrade sidequest. I suspect they don't have a heart.
