ride like the wind at double speed PG13. green day; mike/billie. 829. done for comingclean's challenge "las vegas". title stolen shamelessly from "start me up" by the rolling stones.
“Shut up,” he says, ears turning pink. “And take off your damn clothes.”
That last line of Mike's sums up the whole tone of this beautifully. I love how they're both aware of the date's significance, but so uncommunicative about it that Billie has no idea that was the impetus for this jaunt and Mike doesn't realise that Billie hasn't made that connection. It's all so lovely and so male. Hee.
I love how you write, and this piece is no different - always such a great balance between the conversation and the descriptive bits that I feel like I'm watching it in my head as I read it. Like it's unfolding right there in front of me. *sigh* I can only wish. Awesome - hopefully this makes you want to write more for us :)
Unfortunately, my desire to write usually does not coincide with a) reality or b) my horrendous lack of personal time. What few hours I get to myself each week are usually spent running errands or staring at the television thinking to myself..."Huh. I need a nap."
I almost forgot to come back and read this...I was at work when I first saw it...and damn, am I ever glad I did. So lovely and sweet and real...not just the overall guy-ness of them, which you do so very very well, but the little details, too...the Diet Dr Pepper and the gray in the stubble and even the cheetos. Well done. =)

I have the same birthday as MC Lars.
I say that because nobody cool or famous was born on October 6th otherwise (that I know of.)
Except. You know. Him.
This was lovely, by the way.
Excuse my ranting.
