Travel question

This is not a sarcastic question, I really would like to know..because I am too much of a planner myself and don't see how I personally could afford doing trips like this, so I am envious/admiring of the people who can. As a note, I get paid once a month, so I have to allot money to certain things (for example, some of my play money is going ( Read more... )

sorry, I'm pretty much a planner. Never really took a spontaneous vacation. But if it does happen in the future...that's what credit cards are for :)

How do you plan for a spontaneous vacation?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *breathe*

You don't, you hop in the car and go. Or the other option - you go to Iflyswa.com and buy a ticket for that night :)

All the time I was growing up, my family never took spontaneous vacations. I would have liked that, but my mother was (and still is) a very conscientious planner when it comes to trips. She rarely if ever did/does deviate from the "itinerary".

Now that I"m an adult, I've love to take a spontaneous vacation, but it's never happened yet. Just about anyone I've wanted to travel with, or currently travel with, is such that they'd probably never go anywhere unless someone ELSE did the organizing, and that someone usually ends up being me. *sigh*

That being said, however, I fortunately HAVE been invited on spontaenous day trips. :) So, even though those didn't involve staying over anywhere, they were spontaneous and fun nonetheless! One of my faves was a day of great hiking, great photography and great company at Pinnacles National Monument. :D

I am the one that usually does the organizing,..like for the family reunion(s) that are happening next year. I waited as long as I could for someone else to step up and do one, but since no one else did it, and I wanted one, I plunged ahead and set it up.

You have a more restrictive schedule, so you would have to plan.

I guess we're planners too. But, to help with extra things we want to do, we have a side bank account set up where we have funds going into it every month. That way we have a little stash for day trips or a little overnighter. :)
