Ya, that tornado wasn't far from Peru. I didn't find out about it until yesterday. I guess it hit some towns south of here. Scary.

Wow. It seemed pretty scary. Our CSA lady said that it was two miles wide at parts, which is just terrifying. I'm seriously fascinated by tornadoes as a concept, but I'd hate to find myself in the middle of one.

I MISS YOU GUYS!!

I don't know why it was talk of spinach ravioli that made me realize it so fiercely. Go figure.

You probably just miss having overly pushy friends forcing you to try everything that comes out of their kitchen(s). And, really, who wouldn't miss that? :P

Joking aside, we miss you, too!

Are you faring all right in the midst of England's World Cup madness?

I think I miss the sense of domestic bliss with which I remember your apartment senior year and, more briefly, you guys' apartment in Chicago. Super bowl, buffalo wings, Dorito commercial with a guy in a mouse suit... doesn't get more blissful than that!

You know, people talked to me like I was going to get mugged during World Cup madness, but I haven't really noticed anything, except that most of the men at work are unavailable in the evenings. And there are English flags all over everything. But there's no more vomit in the streets than usual, and the number of alarmingly boisterous and offensive men on Cowley Road is just about the same. (Who knew Oxford had a dodgy side?!) How's the U.S. taking to it all?

It's really the mouse suit that makes it. Screw everything else. :P

[Alas, this whole World Cup conversation became totally moot since you replied to my comment, but I'll answer anyway.] I'm glad England hasn't gone too crazy with World Cup fever. As for things stateside, if my Facebook feed were any indication, the entire US would be addicted to soccer. Kevin, as you might be able to tell from his FB updates, is totally enthralled with US soccer right now. As far as mainstream media goes, there isn't tons of coverage but I have been surprised to see World Cup events addressed in a number of mainstream forums. I think the ubiquity of soccer with small children is definitely helping its popularity along here.
