Oh, I definitely try to ignore Fergie. The only way I can stand the song "My Humps" is in the form of the Alanis Morisette parody--and even that can be a bit much. And I agree on that Girlfriend song, too; although I think the worst part about it is that it's so damned catchy.
Can we add Soulja Boy, Madonna after about 1995, Britney Spears, and No Doubt after they stopped embracing ska to that list?
I think it might be bad that you are looking at Fergie for thoughtful lyrics. On that note, you could look at Soulja Boy, who sings "Superman that hoe."
On that note, many are still trying to figure out how to superman a hoe
Bob Dylan is usually more profound in one verse than Fergie is in her entire life
1. I wasn't looking at Fergie for *thoughtful* lyrics. I was looking at her for examples of lyrics that mindlessly perpetuate misogynistic values, which hers do pretty effortlessly.
2. Soulja Boy makes me want to kill things. That song is horrible.
3. Bob Dylan's lyrics have always rocked my world, but even his voice is slowly growing on me. I still don't like it per se, but it's definitely not as nails-on-a-chalkboard for me as it used to be.

Also: Let's destroy Avril Lavigne too. that Girlfriend Song is, for lack of a better term, a SIN against humanity.

And doesn't it make you sad that we would EVER need to put No Doubt on such a list?

Now if that isn't the ultimate for of meta, I have no idea what is.
And, yes, it makes me (and the baby Jesus) weep that No Doubt decided to... well, there really are no words for what happened to No Doubt.

1.) when I read "Time: *passes*", I thought it said Tim, and then I was wondering who Tim was and why he was in on this convo....
