I. Am. Finally. Licensed. Which means I will soon be gainfully employed. Huzzah!

It's a Columbus Day miracle.

To make this day even more awesome, there is an interview with John Le Carré on today's Democracy Now!. I didn't even know he was alive. Hell, I didn't even know we all knew his real name. Guess I need to read more than The Spy Who ( Read more... )

Book recs! The Smiley Trilogy (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Honourable Schoolboy, and Smiley's People) are probably the most well-known Le Carré books, but I'd rec The Looking Glass War and A Perfect Spy as two of his better books. The former is depressingly realistic, even more so than The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, and the latter is arguably the best Le Carré book out there.

EDIT: And also, congrats on the licencing!

Oooh, thank you for the book recs! I will definitely add The Looking Glass War and A Perfect Spy to my To Read list. More books to devour now that I have a library card again!
