Comments: This was loosely inspired by the movie Henry & June. I like this idea, but i need to know if anyone likes it before I continue-which is why I only wrote a prologue! I need to know what you guys think! Please give me feedback! :D. JONGKI IS LOVE and i couldn't think of putting anyone else to this plot but them haha. Plus there's Jae/Hyun if you squint and Won/Min if you pull out your magnifying glass. (My creative juices were slightly lacking when i wrote this xD. So My writing style here wasn't my best but I hope you all like it! xD)
---------------------------------------------------
It was Friday night, and Jonghun was thinking. He came up with the number six. This was the sixth Friday was walking down the same street at 11'o'clock pm. The sixth time he would enter the same club, and the sixth time he'd sit down, and watch.
He was still in his suit when he opened the door and it all looked familiar. The bar, the strobe lights, the dark tint the entire place had to it. The DJ was in the far right hand corner by the dance floor and the music was blasting high and mighty in his ears. No matter where he looked, everybody was moving. There were men and women on the dance floor, dancing way too close and way too rough not to be contemplating sex sometime that evening. Though, judging from the two or three couples hurrying out of the establishment, or hastily toward the bathroom, there was no time like the present. Jonghun stepped in and nodded to the bartender, the drunks at the bar, and the scantily clad women making eyes at him from the side of the room.
He was dressed formally, in a suit, because he hadn't bothered to change after work. The first few times he had come here, people had looked at him funny, skeptically, wondering if he was about to bust somebody for illegal activity, but as the frequency of his visits increased, the people began to relax and disregard him. They realized that he was just like them: there to have a little fun.
Jonghun wouldn't exactly call what he was doing there 'fun', but the more he thought about it, the more he had begun to realize he enjoyed it: He looked forward to the Friday nights in which he came here.
The suit clad gentleman made his way along the wall, to the sitting section of the establishment, which housed a few nice tables and metal chairs, adorned with pretty ladies clad in cocktail dresses giggling over their martinis. As he passed, the women watched him-most women normally did- but he payed no attention. They weren't why he was here.
Jonghun sat discreetly in the corner, at his usual table, and scanned the crowd on the dance floor. He could practically see the heat and hormones radiating from it. His dark brown depths searched the dance floor patiently until they found what they were looking for.
There was a male with blonde hair, a pretty face, and an enticing body. He was the reason Jonghun was here. He, was the sight the gentleman had stumbled upon in his first visit to the club and the only thing that had held his attention the entire night. He was the reason for his five previous visits and why he would probably continue to come back.
Jonghun watched him intently, taking it all in: The blonde on the dance floor moved his body fluidly and seemed to lose himself in the music. He wasn't dancing with anybody and the attitude he exuded said he didn't really mind. When he opened his eyes their gazes met, and a familiar smile graced his lips. He danced with more feeling, for his audience.
The dancer returned Jonghun's gaze unwaveringly. He gave him a smirk and watched as the gentleman smiled back at him. Jonghun nor the blonde dared look away and Jonghun had the vague impression that the other man wanted him to come over, to dance with him. This one look shouted without words, and Jonghun had the urge to make his way over to the other.
It seemed like their thoughts where shared, because at that moment, the blonde beckoned him over with a graceful finger and Jonghun's smile widened.
The gentleman knew though, that he couldn't stay. He stood, smiled apologetically at his dancer and began to walking towards the door, holding the gaze between the two, until it was absolutely necessary that he look in front of him.
He pushed the bar door open and jammed his hands in his trouser pockets as he walked toward his car. His car was parked at least six blocks away, at the building in which he worked and when he arrived at it, he didn't waste time driving himself toward his apartment.
It was late, so the drive didn't take him much time and he found himself pushing open his car door in a lot full of parked cars. The cars belonging to the people of his building who didn't really care to go out on Friday nights-and there were quite a few.
Jonghun made his way up two flights of carpeted stairs to the second floor, walking in the direction of his two-bedroom apartment. His door number read 209 in gold plated letters. He sighed and stuck his key into the lock on the front door.
It opened easily and he took some care in closing it behind him. It was dark, as expected, and he stepped out of his shoes, padding toward and into the biggest bedroom of the apartment, which resided at the end of a small hallway. He was completely silent as he entered the conjoined master bathroom and took off his clothes, stepping into the shower to wash off the smell of the club. The smell of sweat, liquor and perfume.
His shower wasn't particularly long and when he got out he noticed a pair of pajamas waiting for him. They had been set, folded, on top of the hamper for him, and after he'd pulled them on, he walked quietly back into the bedroom.
Wearing a pair of sweat pants and a navy wife beater, he crawled into the bed beside a sleeping form. Jonghun tried to be as gentle as he could, so as not to wake the person beside him, but immediately as the bed sunk down with his weight, the shape turned to face him.
“You're late again..” Hyo Rin said sleepily, lifting her head from the pillow, her long dark hair framing her face and sleepy eyes.
“I'm sorry love,” Jonghun said softly, patting her hair as he pulled the covers over him. “I got caught up at work.”
The girl gave a contented hum and snuggled back into the bed, already asleep. Jonghun put an arm around his fiancée to further comfort her in her sleep, but while his body was with her, his mind was on his dancer. He smiled and then shook his head to clear his thoughts- was that bad?
~* * * *~
Hongki walked into the door of his apartment silently, not for fear of waking any one up however, he just didn't want to startle anyone. Though that idea was quickly shot when he walked through the door.
He cast a ray of light into the room when he opened it. The entire room was dark- to his surprise- therefore rendering him mysterious and shadow covered. Hongki moved his eyes to the couch to the slight left of him, only to find Seunghyun, Jaejin, Minhwan, and Wonbin curled up on the couch staring intently a scary movie.
At the appearance of Hongki's shaded form all four let out a savage scream. Seunghyun immediately clung to Jaejin, who was squeezing the last will and testament out of a couch pillow in fear, Minhwan jumped so high he fell clean off of the couch, landing with a sharp thud, and Wonbin's eyes were wide with the notion of impending doom, his mouth agape.
They all stood frozen like that for a moment, the movie sending uneven light flickering across the faces of the unsuspecting victims. It was Hongki who broke first: he doubled over and erupted into thunderous laughter, flicking on the living-room light switch by the door with a small move of his hand.
“ I didn't even try that time!” he cried breathlessly as the fear on the faces of his house mates slowly dissolved. “Oh my GOD! I wish I had a camera so I could show you all your faces!” he said, pointing to all of them in turn as he laughed it up in the doorway.
Wonbin was the first to move, a small blush on his face as he stood from the couch and pulled Hongki into the apartment, shutting the door behind him.
“Shut up Hongki you'll wake the entire building,” He said to him seriously, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly, in relief.
“As if your girly screams didn't already!” Hongki said, clutching his stomach as tears formed in the corner of his eyes. The other's just glared, save for Minhwan who was pouting slightly and rubbing the side of his head he'd hit on the coffee table when he'd gone crashing to the floor. They all knew Hongki was going to hold onto this moment for a long, long time.
Hongki made his way over to the television and turned off the DVD, watching as the movie's title screen flashed. The movie hadn't yet come to its conclusion, but at the moment in time none of the four boys had the heart, patience, or balls to tell Hongki to keep it on. Hongki's laughter began to fade into small giggles, but his grin was still shining full force.
“I told you idiots not to watch One Missed Call. The cover was enough to keep me away from it. I would've freaked out in the first ten minutes”
“Yah! Then why are you laughing at us!,” Jaejin countered snappily, the glare still on his face. He wasn't a huge fan of being scared shitless.
“Because I wasn't a big enough idiot to actually watch it- and your reaction was too priceless not to wallow in for a moment,” Hongki's giggles picked up momentum again. “Want me to show you your face?” he asked with a smirk, just as Jaejin sent the remote sailing across the room aimed at Hongki's head.
Hongki yelped and ducked just in time, sending the poor piece of plastic, clattering into the door, off of which it ricocheted and flew directly at Wonbin, who caught it hastily, shooting an exasperated look at Jaejin. Hongki chuckled and made his way past the couch towards the hallway. Seunghyun seemed to remember, at that moment-as Jaejin brooded beside him, and Minhwan pulled his maknae ass back onto the couch- where exactly Hongki had been for the past few hours. He smirked.
“So did he come again?” Seunghyun asked suddenly, moving to hang over the back of the couch, to get a better look at Hongki.
“Of course he did, Jaejin supplied as if the answer was obvious, causing the excited Seunghyun to narrow his eyes at him.
“I told you he would!” Minhwan yelped triumphantly, his head turned to peer towards the hall. Wonbin, the only source of sanity, face-palmed. Oh, the company he kept.
“He hasn't even answered the question yet...” Everyone fell silent at the realization.
“Yes he came” Hongki said after a moment, still smiling, causing the volume of the room to raise once more in curiosity.
“Yeah!” Minhwan threw his fist in the air triumphantly. “I knew it”
“So what happened?” Seunghyun asked expectantly, wanting all the details of the encounter.
“Nothing,” Hongki said truthfully.
“Nothing, Nothing, or Nothing, Something?” Jaejin asked, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. Hongki laughed.
“What always happens.” He said to the other's, hoping that cleared things up. Wonbin raised his eyebrows at the blonde.
“Have you even met this guy yet?” he asked, moving back over to the couch.
“Well....no..” Hongki started, biting his lip. “But he's hot and from the way he looks at me, I can tell he's interested. Plus he comes there and only watches me-This was the 6th time. He sat there for a good fifteen minutes, and left just as I was telling him to come dance with me...but he watched me until he made it to the door,” Hongki grinned, his self esteem obviously rising from the recap of the attention he had received.
“You sure he wasn't just watching the hot chick behind you?” Jaejin asked. The rest skillfully ignored him.
“Well at this rate you're going to have to make your move sometime,” Seunghyun grinned.
“You-know-who certainly isn't to like that!” Jaejin said and smiled pointedly. Hongki smirked slyly at the remark.
“He doesn't have to know..”
“Ooo Hyuuunng!” Minhwan scolded playfully, clicking his tongue in disapproval.
“What?” Hongki defended, “It's not like we're dating or anything!” He said truthfully, making his way towards the only single bedroom in the apartment. Since he was eldest he got his own room. The other's didn't mind much, and Hongki knew why. He could tell that Jaejin secretly loved having a room with Seunghyun, no matter how much grief he gave him. Hongki would put money on the idea that Jaejin had a crush on the boy, but he wasn't sure Seunghyun had caught on yet. He was quite clueless when it came to himself. He also knew that
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bmlWonbin and Minhwan liked being around each other too. Wonbin liked to look after the maknae of the house, but he probably wouldn't admit to it if accused.
“You sure he knows that?” Wonbin called after Hongki, his laugh muffled by the soft closing of Hongki's bedroom door.
The blonde laughed to himself and sat down on the edge of his bed, falling back to lie flat on it, his hands pressed behind his head. Those four, really were the best. He stared at his ceiling with a smile on his lips, though his thoughts seemed to drift back to the club continually.
Hongki went there every Friday night, around the same time, and for the past five weeks (made six by that night), the suit clad gentleman came and watched him, from the same spot in the club. The blonde didn't know who he was, but he didn't mind, the man was cute, and he obviously seemed to like something about him.
He didn't mind the attention, and honestly the dark-haired gentleman was probably the most intriguing person to him in the club as well. Hongki made a plan to go back to the club again next week, and just as Seunghyun said: He would have to make his move then too. The thought actually made him excited, because he definitely wouldn't mind getting to know the man a little better. He smiled to himself. Considering the time, he only had six more days left to wait. Six was the number of the evening, now wasn't it?
