R.L. Stine was a little after my time, unfortunately. I would have LOVED his books as a middle grader! I still love a good scary book, but I'm definitely getting wimpier in my old age. LOL.

LOL -- Goosebumps might be the perfect level of scare for now, then! (okay I suspect they are actually a little too low on the reading level scale to hold up without childhood nostalgia attached, but I haven't tested that theory yet)

This was such a fun post. I read a lot of Goosebumps books when I was in elementary school. They were so fun!

Thanks! Always love to hear from a fellow Goosebumps reader. They're really perfect for that age (possibly better for a *little* older than 7, but not by much).
