Going home in half an hour for Easter break -- technically we only get Friday off, but I turned in all my work early so I could be home during Holy Week. I'm very excited. Holy Week is my favourite liturgical holiday and I always spend it with my family, so I'm really glad that that's worked out this year as well ( Read more... )

Growing up Roman Catholic in the 80s/90s, I never heard it called anything but Palm Sunday. Of course, now I am a lapsed/heretical Catholic, so grain of salt & whatnot.

I have joked for many years that I would be an amazingly good Catholic if I wasn't Protestant. I quite enjoy all the trappings, I just still take issue withcertain practices and theologies. But that goes for a lot of versions of Christianity, so meh.

Yeahhh, people can be very critical of bring a "buffet Christian", but I actually think that's a pretty good strategy, as long as you leave out the asshole bits instead of only picking them.
